  If you want to understand the plot of this film without all of its messy contrivances, beautiful nuances, and wonderful complex depiction of misogyny and how women are never believed... It's literally just Will Smith (Matt Damon) slapping Chris Rock (Adam Driver) to supposedly defend his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith's (Jodie Comer) "Honor" but in reality he is defending his own very fragile masculinity and all of the gossip and rumors that have been spewed about him and his manhood the past year. Iconic.

  I’m nostalgic for this film because I saw it when I was six and in hindsight it was definitely when my parents knew before I did that I was going to grow up to become a f’ed up film nerd obsessed with horror/thrillers.

  Not that it’s either of those things now. But to a six year old? Whew my heart was BEATING. I loved it. I still kinda love it. It’s good. Don’t show it to a six year old though idk what my dad was thinking.
