  There’s too much going on here and I’ve tried starting this too many times so I’ll just leave it at this.

  It’s supposed to be raining the whole week but their first meeting in twenty four years is cosmically blessed with a bright, warm day. She’s beautiful, he’s handsome, neither can quite believe the other is real. They smile and tease; their shared past seeps into every exchange.   The plot of this film is Callum Turner trying to get with a woman who’s about to become a nun, but God keeps cockblocking him. That’s the concept we’re working with. 

  AND I BOUGHT IT as someone who would also abandon the Catholic Church for Callum Turner.

  Lots of themes eschewed in favour of focusing on the romance and absurdist comedy. The taxi scene had me slack-jawed. And Rome! I love Rome on film it’s so beautiful
