this absolutely owns. total chaos, camp genius. particularly loved the striking tableaus they made with the sets, costumes and cast. that being said, i was expecting more freak. whoever on letterbox called this "liberal salo" is so funny but so true. having watched greenaway and passolini, this was kinda tame??? except for when he tried to jerk his horse off and gave himself the ick. i didn't like that. didn't like the birth scene either but that's just natural, we've all been there. helen mirren on a leash.......... i will be thinking about this for a while. and honestly i'd like to see the original cut!
