meditative and beautiful. the sounds of summer lingering and pronouncing their presence in each shot, so much so i could smell the summers of my childhood with my siblings and mom.
this really is about the realization we have as children that our parent(s) are just people too, and people have flaws and not everything ever always figured out.
that being said, i did not quite connect as much as i thought i would. a stunning, albeit very slow, film, i didn't see much of my relationship with my own mother, or childhood, in Lacy and Janet.
