Went to every Hunger Games midnight premiere up until this, which is probably a good thing since this movie put me to sleep. It had its moments but for a stand alone story it could have been cut way down, especially in the dialogue department. The retro-modern styling was great.
THEATER WATCH
Interesting concept and some really cool camerawork. Sadly, a lot of the moves were to hide or deter from what could have been exciting visuals. I found myself questioning a lot of the characters’ motives for their actions and what the storytelling was really trying to get at.
STREAM WATCH: TUBI
Camera work, pacing, and sfx all done really well. Wished there was a bit more backstory built on the family as a dynamic but also as individual characters. Great gore, not so great horror.
