A horrific film from start to finish. However, the horror is the point and most necessary. Steve McQueen, despite not having experienced what was shown, does a breathtaking job and handles the topics with dignity and respect. He’s a true artist, this would be undeniable even if Hunger was his only film.
Strikingly beautiful, keeps dread by your side and reminds us how we still live despite its presence.
I had really high expectations for this film from peer reviews.
Sound track goes insane.
I didn’t care about any of the characters bar Art and that was because I found him hot.
Overall, an impressive, pretty, sexually charged Adidas ad with lots of what I’m assuming is great tennis.
Oh my God… I have so much to say about this movie.
On a superficial level, the movie proves time and time again, its inability to fully go there from the structure of its plot line to it’s contextual value, even down to its costuming (dress only the main character in what is clearly 2015/6 fashion just to satisfy the book fans).
The characters are underdeveloped and undermined. There are attempts to make Lily whimsical and dreamy but that’s never fully…
