A film that feels like looking at bare nerves, like exposed blood vessels pumping. One of the most uncomfortable movies I’ve ever watched. Scene after scene of intimate, personal dialogue. Revealing so much with little words, accompanied by the back drop of a terrifyingly eerie score. One of the best I’ve ever heard. The motion of the camera mimicking a presence, encroaching on this family. True directing genius. All of this setting the tone for the dark and absurd events of the movie. Best enjoyed when guard is let down.
