  I was worried about this movie. I rewatched the first Dune and found I didn't like as much on rewatch, and I'm in the midst of reading the book so I was worried on how this would turn out.

  I am glad to have been wrong. This is just awesome on all levels, grand in scope, amazing visuals, just fantastic.

  A story about authenticity, starring an inauthentic protagonist, fabricating fictitious films. The way this movie pulls off its self-relfexive and self-referential narration with such grace, pulling meaning out of meaninglessness, and commenting on the commentator... It's extremely interesting, bold for its time, and full of memorable setpieces and characters. I give this movie 9/10, which is 8 1/2 rounded up.
