    Thrilling and sexy and sweet.
Despite my general disdain for crime/mafia films I really got into this.

My red flag is that I actually held a lot of sympathy for Caeser until he said, "you queers make me sick."

Also what the fuck is up with the "Chicago" "setting"
    NO CITY SHOTS?! That's bold.
They just threw in CPD and called it a day. Respect.

    I. Can't. Fucking. Wait. For contemporary movies to stop playing booming bass and dramatic string scores every 30 seconds.
    It's so obnoxious.

Do they think the audience is so brain dead they can't sit in silence for more than 5 minutes?
Do they need to be patronizingly guided through the film's tone?
Or is it a lazy attempt to snag some extra Oscar nominations?

The music, the pacing, and the editing made me feel like I was watching a nonstop…

Yeah, I totally fell in love with this. Oops!

It's drenched in oscar bait qualities and uses gossip/tension in a way that I normally don't like.
But I was completely and utterly enthralled.

It gently tackles liberalism and offers bits of radical motion.
    Tragic and exciting and hopeful.

I hate the ugly, digital blue color grading. The score was almost ridiculous. But everything else felt perfect.

There are many eloquent reviews that capture exactly how I feel about this film, so I won't say much.

But it attempts to do a little bit of everything (humor, gore, politics, relatability, etc.) and ultimately falls flat.

I watched the short documentary about the making of this several weeks ago and the artistic elements are inspiring.

Yay! This took me by surprise!
I was ready to be a hater based on the marketing for the film. I was expecting a bloated, sci-fi, political allegory lib fest.
But I AM a true Bong Joon Ho lover. I never should've doubted him.

This is a loving and optimistic film.
    A spiritual sequel to Okja.

Bong Joon Ho engages all the senses. Carefully he constructs taste, scent, texture, sound, and visuals (obviously). I love that this is consistent throughout…

Impressively modest. The film doesn't reach beyond what it's giving you.

It's not an overwhelming statement on environmentalism, corporatism, community, or grief. I'm glad the film doesn't over-indulge itself in those concepts.

Very good plot beats and overall direction :)
