  The quality drop-off from Hayao Miyazaki to his son Goro is felt in every aspect of every scene. 35 minutes in I realized I don’t care about the characters and the story. I’m also used to getting familiar with an atmosphere or mood an anime has as the film progresses and this film has little to none that I noticed or appreciated.

  I’m not a complete unknown to any of the stories in the biopic but someone doing a Bob Dylan impression is pretty entertaining. Going electric is done to death. The Safdie brothers should make a 1979 through 1989 biopic miniseries of Dylan starring Adam Sandler. Anything else besides the mid ‘60s era, please.

  You always expect a celebrity who seems intimidating at first to be featured in behind the scenes footage having fun, showing how people think they’re really the nicest teddy bear. Hayao Miyazaki is the opposite of all of that.
