  Controversial statement incoming …

  I really didn’t like this. I felt like the two leads had borderline no romantic chemistry or tension. It was almost impossible for me to feel a deep connection to the two protagonists as I did when reading the book because I just could not see past how obviously platonic they were. 

  This is NOTHING compared to the 2011 film, with Anne Hathaways dodgy accent or not.

  I didn’t even cry I was that disconnected from the characters, and I cry at everything? 

  The story is heartbreaking and truly beautiful but the cast just weren’t it for me.

  I am so torn. Because I love and hate films like this so much. 

  This did such a good job as a thriller, I was on the edge of my seat and infuriated the entire fucking time. They played onto the things that scare and upset humans so well. The dog, the music, the intensity, all of it. 

  I will say though this film just irritated me, from the pure stupidity of the plot. Not stupidity in terms of writing…
