yeah still amazing, so glad it was as good as I remember. one of the least predictable movies I've ever seen. twisted and gnarly but beautiful. the arrogance of wealth and the abuse of the power it affords. and the sick little games the elites play to expand their power. you will conform or you will be punished. this can be read through a class lens as well as a colonial one, and both ring just as true.

I mean come on... this is just fucking excellent. truly scary, sound design used to perfection (the music but also the screeches and the sound effects), runs at a blistering pace, easy to follow but still engaging, thrilling, cinematography on top... god damn I see why this is such a classic. guess I have to watch the like 6 other movies in this franchise now
