Horny teens under fascism and their cartoonish daily interactions. Anyone have recs for good criticism on the film?

Close-Up 1990
Clicked on this only having a distant memory of having loved Taste of Cherry in undergrad. I’m completely blown away by the film. Obviously unlike any film ever made in its conceit and execution but it’s more than just clever. The emotional reasoning of the pro/antagonist of the film is so relatable to me. The high of being respected as an artist is essentially an unmatchable feeling and if you really give in to chasing that high it can lead you down some pretty surprising paths. One of the best films I’ve ever seen.

Beau Travail 1999
Platonic ideal of art house cinema. Impeccable everything. Amorphous, moralistic, anti-imperial. Not one misstep here. Loved it!

Pity 2018
If it’s a metaphor for something Greek-specific, the film’s larger meaning is lost on me. As a very dark comedy it mostly works, with some of most outrageously macabre scenes I’ve seen. It’s a bit of a novelty but I’d recommend for fans of the genre; whatever genre you’d call this.
