  A few surprises along with a sub-90 minute runtime make this an ok watch. Cutting it a lot of slack, the fun house of booby trap horrors still goes way beyond the credible.

  The debate of whether this is a horror movie or a procedural thriller is understandable. Between the subject matter, the setting, the imagery, and my god the soundtrack, it's only ever been a horror movie to me. I think it may just very well be my favorite.

  Expected a weak retread and sequel to the first, but got something a bit different. Still a similar story of a man heading to Shaolin to train in kung fu before coming back home to right the wrongs of oppression but... Where the first movie felt like the retelling of a true story, this one was more of a comedy. At first it felt silly and inferior to the first, but with time, it was just fun with an endearing sense of humor--all credit for that going to Gordon Liu's performance--that's even more surprising compared to the earnestness of the first movie.
