    Going into this film, I was expecting a supremely glamorous depiction of a less-than-interesting topic: the atomic bomb. The bomb’s development is fascinating, but the depictions of high-stakes and tension that the trailer was projecting was not something I thought was realistic. I assumed Nolan would make the film a race against time, exaggerating the capacities of Germany and Japan (to historical inaccuracy) in an attempt to dramatize Oppenheimer’s scientific journey.

    Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to see marvelous visuals…
