The House of Rothschild 1934
The annoying part of most of these reviews is that they are either interpreting it through an anachronistic lens or totally missing the point of several scenes they call anti-Semitic. Like the opening scene, it's not about them being greedy. It's about the fact that their taxes were so high that without hiding the money, they could not have survived. Likewise, I'm all for "tax the rich," but that does not mean we cannot enjoy this movie about the irony of European anti-semitism, especially within the context of its period.
