  Good movie in the occult detective theme that slowly bleeds into psychological horror. There are some cool scenes depicting voodoo religion, the music and atmosphere is nice and De Niro is incredibly suave here.

  However its held back by relying so much on exposition, via often awkwardly delivered dialog. Overall its a decent occult mystery with a satisfying cathartic ending. Would make a good double feature followed up with Jacob's Ladder.

  I love everything about Princess Mononoke.
