Beautiful adaptation, terrificly shot and sequenced as layered, first-person tableaus. Appropriately disorienting, like Zone of Interest, but ultimately cannot capture the impossible brutality of the novel.

Priscilla 2023
Better than the typical biopic. Both performances were great and went deeper than a simple impression. I loved that it mostly avoided Elvis' celebrity other than to present it as a sometimes-inconvenient fact of their relationship. Instead of deifying or romanticizing Elivs, as we usually see, this presents him as he was: a flawed human experiencing fame and its effects on his relationships. Or rather, how those effects were experienced by the woman he married. It achieved a crystal clear point of view. As always, Sophia excels at building the interior world of the young female protagonist.
