Michael Clayton 2007
Yeah this totally whips. Five stars might be crazy but idk this was really good. I’m not a big Clooney guy but he’s great here, as are Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton. Kinda refreshing to see a “legal thriller” without any courtroom scenes that still manages to have a coherent, believable narrative. Probably one of the tightest scripts ever, and it’s paced so well without wasting a single moment. Haven’t witnessed such a cathartic and satisfying ending in a movie in so long. Great stuff! Sat in my watchlist for far too long.

Watched this on a Saturday night…must be some kind of metaphor. It’s good! Movies like these that are super fast paced and pure chaos still require a degree of put-togetherness to show what it’s all for and idk if this quite got there. Like yeah it’s wild and there’s a random llama but it just felt a little too random at times. But at the same time it’s not crazy enough to compensate for the “THE CAST ARE FUCKING EATING…

Poignant, genuine, and very funny. Coming-of-age at perhaps some of its best here? The way the movie is shot and casting mostly lesser-known actors (to me, at least) gives it a nostalgic and sorta familiar feel. I could tell where it was headed towards the end but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me feel something.
