  When I heard of this project, I was very curious how successful Zemekis and company could be with this camera-in-one-spot the whole movie gimmick. Is this going to basically be like watching a stage play? Upon watching it, I was mostly surprised how well it worked, though maybe better suited to a 20 minute Disneyland attraction than a full length feature film.

  I've often heard Catch-22 referred to as a black comedy, and that's certainly a good way to characterize it. By the end, it's far more black than comedy. While there are plenty of moments that made me laugh, I wouldn't necessarily call them funny. Absurd is probably a more accurate word.   Growing up, my dad always told me this was his dad's favorite movie. I somehow had never watched it. Now I have. I have thoughts.

  1. Is this John Wayne's only non-cowboy/soldier role? Quick IMDB check.....Ok. He played a firefighter in the Hellfighters, a cop in McQ, and a robber baron or something in a movie called Pittsburg. That looks like about it. The man knew where his stregnths lay.
