Poor Things 2023
As someone who is really fascinated by weird visuals and worlds, I think this movie is incredible. Yorgos Lanthimos has a sick but beautiful mind. The whole movie is a caricature encompassing a wonky frankenstein story, and becomes an interesting and unique play on human nature, emotions and creation.
There were some moments where I thought it was a bit fast paced and there were unnecessary plot lines, but I couldn’t stop watching. Max McCandles was precious, and so is Willem Dafoe. An amazing experience for me.

So many notes… like how vampires and werewolves have to rely on guns and machinery to fight? I don’t mind when guns are involved but aren’t they supernatural beings or something? Shouldn’t they have some supernatural traits? Like the only thing supernatural about them is that they’re immortal, can burn in the sun/allergic to silver and turn into a dog. Like okay… it has no real impact on the plot whatsoever. Also, how can a wise and powerful vampire elder…

Amazing movie, haven’t felt this way about a movie in a long time. I love how Guadagnino played out the dynamics between the three main characters—the yearning and pining for each other, the subtle tension and the CRAZY SCORE. Love the cunty music being played each time the momentum starts in a scene. And the ending! CRAZY foreshadowing, the shots, the writing… jaw-dropping.
