So much fun. Tons of swagger and great pace. Super creative and compelling characters. Brilliant plot twists, presented in such an exciting way. Strong themes of righteousness and greed vs kindness and authenticity. Barely blinked watching this movie

Gladiator 2000
Incredibly transportive… dialogue and setting pull you right into 2nd century Rome. The contrast of a worthy man who doesn’t really want to be emperor vs an unworthy man who does — powerful take on what it means to be honorable, dutiful, and good. Rome is the mob, play to the crowd, people love a hero, true strength vs superficial strength, self-interest vs the interests of the people… this feels like the gold standard of the themes an epic film should include.
