I enjoyed this movie so much. It’s the first of any Hong Kong cinema I’ve watched and I can’t wait to finish this trilogy and explore more of Tony Leung and Andy Lau’s filmography. The script is so original and the storyline is executed in a manner that makes you feel so tense. The play on words in the title, calling it “Infernal” instead of “Internal” shows the director’s intent to put Lau and Chan in a constant state of hell as their “good guy” and “bad guy” disguises unravel. This was insane I loved it.
I love Prabhas and was expecting some sort of great comeback with this movie but unfortunately the hype is INCREDIBLY undeserved. The movie is directed horribly, because of all the action scenes that constantly came out of nowhere the movie failed to form any sort of connection with the audience whatsoever. Not once does anyone engage in a normal conversation, it’s either a yell or a dramatic whisper, which by the way caught me off-guard at various times. I failed to connect with any character in the movie, the storyline had so much potential but the direction of the film was just, awful.
