An expertly crafted screenplay, which in its last 30 minutes had me absolutely floored. It’s gritty and harrowing and has some of the best performances I’ve seen in a bit. I’ve never been the biggest fan of these blood and oil movies that touch on exploitation and masculinity (probably because I’m not the target audience there) but believe it or not, I chose this tonight! But as the film went on I found myself increasingly disappointed by a story that was getting increasingly shallow as…

For this years’ Boxing Day family musical movie tradition we watched A COMPLETE UNKNOWN, the newest musical biopic for iconic folk singer Bob Dylan of whom I had no prior knowledge about beyond his legendary lyricism and stream-of-consciousness style.

I think that this movie might be for a different audience who is maybe more familiar with Bob Dylan’s work and career because I couldn’t help but find myself lost in this experience. The evolving relationship dynamics and the tension between…
