The Graduate 1967
The exchanges between Ben and Mrs Robinson at the beginning are impeccably timed and hilarious. You almost entirely forget that Mrs Robinson is the perfect villain. That is, until the second half of the film, when Ben finds his purpose (that is, love) and the story loses some of its complexity.
Also I am all for repetitive musical themes tying in key moments of the story and I do love Simon and Garfunkel, but the loud, abrasive return of the same 3 songs had me losing my place in the storyline a bit (albeit while singing along).Translated from by -
The Fall Guy 2024
Ryan Gosling’s and Emily Blunt’s cute and comical exchanges worked to hold my attention until I could find the plot goal in the second half of this film. Otherwise, great action movie satire, accentuated by excellent music choices. The dog was my favorite part.
