i feel like the framing of this movie points the blame and disgust toward elisabeth and sue, while not showing anything about them to make you sympathize with or intrigued by their character(s). i personally feel like the grotesqueness and over the top nature of the movie distracted from the potential depth i felt it could have had.

i watched this movie while i was in an uncomfortable chair and i was so immersed in the film that i forgot
loved! everyone online kept saying they couldn’t tell where it dragged compared to the musical, but there were a few palpable moments where i was like alright this movie didn’t need to be almost three hours. never before noticed how much sggsual tension there is between elphaba and glinda. “just two friends”… history will say they were roommates.
cried twice. 3.5 stars.
