Brooklyn 2015
Another movie that I watched on an airplane and likely would never have watched at home. Visually lovely, but as is often my complaint, this movie is light on substance. It's a "will she or won't she" exercise that could have at least presented an interesting dilemma between making a new life for yourself versus staying loyal to your family in a time of need, but as is often the case, the focus shifted to "which male love interest will the female protagonist choose?!?"

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2011
A all-star cast of old English people (who likely remember when India was still under British rule) go to India to escape whatever plagues them at home. It's a feel-good movie full of beloved actors and not the worst way to spend a couple of hours on an airplane, but given Britain's history with India, it definitely comes across as very glossy and just a little tone deaf.

Pride & Prejudice 2005
For personal reasons, Bridget Jones's Diary has been my favorite movie of all time for over a decade. This movie combines my personal reasons with beautiful cinematography, music, pace and a stellar cast, which may just have pushed it into the no. 1 slot as my all-time favorite.
