Great premise, great acting, good intentions, but the climb is way too slow for such a dramatic crash and burn at the end. Would have liked a bit more equilibrium between the climb and the fall and more in-depth development of the main relationship which at times felt rushed.

Metamorphoses 2014
Pretentious, academic and stiff, clichéed to the nth degree and yet it simultaneously felt like a video advertisement for American Apparel directed by Terry Richardson. I have nothing against nudity, but when it's exploited to "shock" in a bucolic environment - as if that sufficed to give the movie purpose or texture - it just annoys me or worse, bores me.
Everything that was great about La Belle Personne fails to work here and instead makes this adaptation - and poor modernization - of Ovide's Métamorphoses a laughing stock.
Only redeeming quality is the visuals that are at times, stunning.
