  I would like to issue a formal apology to Damien Chazelle 

  The first time I watched this was in 2016 when it came out. I was 17 and I remember sitting in the theater with my then girlfriend and her family. We sat through the film and I tried desperately hard to connect with it, to no avail. I loved the cinematography but there was something about it that fell flat for me.
