I wasn't a big fan of Jordan Peele's previous film, Get Out, although I certainly admired how he reformulated the tropes of the genre so as to suggest that just because the contemporary world gives the appearance of being a pseudo-post-racial society, it doesn't necessarily mean that that's true behind closed doors. Another terrible Hollywood remake. This is nothing but an INSULT to the original Argentinean movie. It has none of the intrigue, intelligence and emotional tension of the original. The sentimentality feels superficial, the characters one-dimensional and the relationships contrived and forced. This movie is an example that you can't remake on-screen chemistry. Terrible !

Movie started on a high with that eerie atmosphere with a beautiful Hindi music playing in the background.

Everything from there has been on a downhill. Bad editing, bad acting, bad story. Expected far better from someone like Osgood Perkins. Can't believe this is from someone who came up with Longlegs. Disappointing.

I always have a certain affinity to the tone and the atmosphere used in the works of this kind. Reminded me of 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'From Hell'. Bale delivers the best as always ! And Melling was remarkably good.

Really a good film to start 2023 with !

Another cinematic gem from Nolan. A mammoth of a comeback after an underwhelming Tenet.
