Trash. Pretty stylish early on, but no substance. Payoff not worth it. Tonally all over the place, cheesy almost comical at times. Who the f rates this movie as something serious. I should have just watched Silence of the Lambs again

Sawdust and Tinsel 1953
The opening flashback sets the tone for the rest of the film—brutal public humiliation.
Sawdust and Tinsel breaks down its characters to their raw states through humiliation, failure, and betrayal. The shifting power dynamics between them, combined with the sympathy they evoke despite their flaws, adds depth and complexity to their portrayals.
There’s irony in their public facade as entertainers, contrasted with their real-life struggles and misery, which deepens the film’s emotional weight.

All That Jazz 1979
An insane wild, creative self assessment with pure honesty on existentialism, promiscuity and responsibility.
