    This was a really fun film that went in a lot of unexpected directions. Similar to Possession, not everything worked for me but I appreciate the swing of this film and that it became far more than your typical supernatural horror film.

    The plot and story was a little convoluted at times; I think a tighter script and edit definitely could have helped.

    The four leads were great and I loved the exploration of Japan's occupation and colonization of Korea through this lens, especially also loving Pachinko and being eager to learn more about all of this.

    I wish I loved this film more, especially because it's often ranked as one of the best V/H/S films.

    I was SO excited for this one being about cults and then... it let me down a little tbh. I wish the end had a bigger impact and delved just a little more into the cult in the framing device and the choices of the videos they chose to play.

    This movie is so frustrating because it's... nothing. A fluff piece. And nothing more. Without the charming relationship between Terri and Pat, it would hardly have any merits.

    First things first: a member of the family should never have directed this documentary. Once they found the old footage, they should have given it to an outside documentarian in order to actually give the film a perspective/angle without feeling the need to protect or go easy on anyone.
