Cannot begin to rate Moulin Rouge objectively because I've been too fond of it for too long. I think I'd be harsher on this film if I was only seeing it for the first time now — it's maybe not quite deft enough to execute its vision at the pace that it aims for. But boy does it have a vision, and that's what gets me.
