My Neighbor Totoro 1988
While the movie may not have any depth to it, I enjoyed it for what it was: a lighthearted adventures about two girls and their interactions with the friendly wood spirits. The characters were very charming to watch, the the animation is beautiful and it feels like you're in the world with them.

The Magnificent Seven 1960
This film doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from the original Japanese version. It is basically the same, minus the setting of being in the west rather than in eastern Japan and some scenes being rearranged in a different order. If you aren't a fan of westerns, you may not like this one.

Tremors 1990
A horror movie set in the wild west and in the daytime was a refreshing concept and made for some fun chase scenes. However, despite the grossness of the creature, I found a lot of the "horror" scenes campy and not as effective (save for one scene where the creature killed the couple using quicksand). An overall campy, but fun horror movie.

Do the Right Thing 1989
This movie tacked the relevant problem of racism and makes it unique by involving an Italian restaurant. Had a lot of funny and serious moments as well. However, I didn't like how other races, like Koreans and Jews, were stereotyped in a movie that is all about fighting away racism and stereotyping. Overall, was an ok movie.
