Upping this to 5 stars. Watched on an airplane and it STILL sucks you in this world. Practical effects and sets goes a LONG way here. The ships and space station environments feel so authentic. Great sound effects as well. Cailey Spaney is a badass. Isabella Merced plays pure primal fear really well. They were the proper The Last of Us  duo we deserved.

I thought this was going to be like The Dead Don’t Die, and I guess it kind of was? But I really enjoy that movie and really hated this one. I had no idea what was going on the entire time. Definitly was saying something about the current state of politics, but that all went completely over my head. I’m not built for politics.

Points for a good score, cool neon lighting, and Cate Blanchett.

Genuinely the best and my overall favorite movie of the 2020’s so far.

The dichotomy of this and a movie like Anora winning back to back best pictures is improbable. Just shows any given year the academy can steer us in any direction. Whether that be multi-million dollar blockbusters that dominate or the small independent dark rom-coms in a relatively even split year.

Who says it’s the same thing every year!

My jaw literally dropped during the Burj Khalifa scene. Every other set piece felt very creative and fun too. So the series really did hit a peak in the 4th entry huh? Between the gadgets and the globetrotting, this one felt all around miles more thrilling than the others.

I can’t believe MI:2 is even a part of this series. With each entry so far after it, it just feels more and more out of place. Ethan hunt isn’t even…
