Batman Forever 1995
watched it on opening night of the "nineties forever" exhibition and i can see why they chose this movie. it truly is peak 90s cinema with all the neon aesthetic and sexual innuendos.
there were a lot of giggles, quite a few laughters and even some clapping (yikes but to each their own). it makes you wonder why audiences at the time didn't appreciate it.
personally i love having fun and watching a vaguely homoerotic freaky couple of villains was such a blast. we need more unserious movies about superheroes. like come on, they're wearing spandex... the jokes write themselves.

Mickey 17 2025
i tend to consider korean-language (bong 1) and english-language (bong 2) bongs as two distinct directors. multiples, if you will. although they have much in common, they tend to focus on different subjects and can differ drastically in style and atmosphere.
just like parasite was the product of bong 1's learnings, mickey 17 looks to be that movie for bong 2. it's bong 2 at his most fleshed-out, romantic and introspective.
