The scale isn’t as big, but my tummy was turning from remembering how being a teen felt. My theater was full of adults and there was so much sniffling and snorting near the end. I think we need to stop comparing Pixar to their past. It’s like comparing a delicious homemade dinner to grabbing fast food on the way home. Of course homemade is always better, but fast food can hit different when it’s needed. Pixar is no longer homemade, but it hits when it counts and that’s the most important piece of their secret sauce.

Well, this lived up to its title.
It lacks any charm, any originality, any sort of semblance of passion behind the camera. It’s directed lazily, with musical numbers so poorly choreographed it could’ve been a Disney channel movie, which is actually a great way to summarize the look of this film.
