A Tale of Springtime 1990
this isn’t one of my favorites from rohmer, but i felt inspired by the colors of spring/ the interiors of parisian apartments. i love that he spent time showing the piles of things we collect in our homes, as they almost act as self portraits. happy spring ☔️🌼🌷!!

this movie made me realize just how emotionally attached i am to the book. i understand it’s difficult to capture the complexity of a 500+ page novel into a two hour movie, but i couldn’t help but feel disappointed. it would have been easier if the acting sucked, but mia wasikowska and michael fassbender evoked the spirit of jane and edward so well (aside from being attractive) that it was all the more frustrating when scenes were cut short (especially jane’s independent will speech). overall, it was a high quality production but perhaps would be best enjoyed by those who care a little less…
