The film worked very well as a touching exploration of male platonic / familial relationships. I’m not sure I would judge it as highly on the way it handled the Jewish context. Eisenberg’s writing was sharp with some memorable scenes, in spite of some odd pacing throughout.
The final quarter felt a bit weak, and relied too heavily on some wide shots of a car amidst some Wes Anderson saturated colours to get it over the line. Great acting and chemistry between the protagonists.
