Nice mixture of social issues, just like in other Kore’eda films, poured into a great story. I don’t know to what extent I am a fan of the ending with all the police interviews but it’s anyway a pretty good watch. Glad I rewatched this one

Tangerine 2015
Going into this movie without any background information or expectations was quite ride. But I still enjoyed it quite a bit. Good display of social issues, while the story is simple but good and entertaining to watch. I definitely had to get used to the soundtrack mixing and photography, but in the end it was quite a vibe. It felt like actually being there and being the one filming

Evil Does Not Exist 2023
3.5 or 4: benefit of the doubt. The ending…. I do get it, but not sure what I think of it. It feels like the subject/theme (title) could’ve been developed more, but maybe that would be overdoing it, killing the simplistic atmosphere of the movie. Besides that, great.

Tie Xi Qu: West of the Tracks 2002
Touching documentation of this district’s people and circumstances. The viewer gets immediately immersed and, in contrast to other fly-on-the-wall documentaries, you feel more part of the subjects than being a third-party observer, which is quite an achievement. The slowness and lack of (or minimal) direction symbolised the lives of these people well, although I think it still dragged on a bit too much, and some more insight into what people were exactly doing at some points would have made it…
