Oh my goodness.
I've fully accepted how incredible of a performance children can produce. But to have young children play roles with such deep emotion reflecting circumstances they're so removed from. And to do so such that there is this continuity with the adult actors. It's unbelievable! If it weren't enough that this was done, if it wasn't enough that these actors have to perform opera as part, there's a scene where the main characters face again their old teacher…

I couldn't find the words to describe it myself but Art Deco/Urban Fantasy is a suitable description. Notably also used in the New Capenna set of Magic: the Gathering which game out in 2022. That setting was more explicitly influenced by prohibition-era aesthetics, but had its problems with being constrained in depicting a police force.
