Moonlight 2016
This movie was so heartbreaking but also beautiful and hopeful at the same time. Unexpected things happen during life, and it takes very different and tragic turns. But I loved how the movie ended in a hopeful note, where Chiron and Kevin could be happy together and heal. The actors were all incredible and it absolutely deserved best picture.

12 Angry Men 1957
It was kinda silly in the made in 1950s speak type of way. But I like the idea of giving criminal defendants the benefit of the doubt and them speaking about why a poor person would not have quality representation. Also this was before Gideon v Wainwright so public defenders didn’t exist at the time. Super interesting look at what happens when the criminal system captures working class people.
