Terrifier 3 2024
Absolutely vile. Very impressively balances the tone between horror, comedy, and drama and it’s the rare slasher where I genuinely care about the main characters. The last 20 minutes were relatively weaker but are clearly setting up for a Terrifier 4 and if Damien Leone can maintain this level of grisly quality and originality then I’d happily be in board until Terrifier 10.

Past Lives keeps it simple - and in a way, clichéd, as at face value it is a story of long-lost lovers and a woman married to the wrong man, platitudes which even its characters point out. This simplicity, however, creates an opportunity for anyone to see a prism of their own relationships reflected in its story. It treats all of its characters and relationships with such warmth and grace, such that when you see your own relationships reflected in its prism, you see them warmer, more graceful, and more essential.
