A very pretty and rich technicolor western from a director I need to see more of.

I need to think about it a little more but that was very very touching. Ford just tells stories of America in a way no other director ever could. Every shot just a pure and complete feeling. Charles Winniger probably should've won Best Actor for this.

Okay…… disregarding any timeline inconsistencies cause no one but me cares about that I’d say this was.. fine. Timotay delivers what you’d expect, but my favorite performance is Ed as Seeger; it’s inspired and heartfelt. Scenes with an incapacitated Woody were the best of the film.
Baez and Rotolo (Sorry RUSSO!!!!!) are done such a disservice by this retelling and reduced to jealous whiny women who just wanted his love, and not given anything to do outside of that.…

On one hand, I try to keep my reviews concise and snappy, but Kubrick just does not allow that. His films demand dissection and a closer analysis of the broader messages made in all of it's smallest details.
