I enjoyed this film. I use the word "enjoy" very loosely - only because there isn't a word I can comfortably replace it with. I found myself absolutely squirming at some very unexpected corners (and at all the expected corners, too).
Okay, this film isn't subtle. But why should it be? It was pretty cathartic to see every disgusting tradeoff our main character makes being brought to the forefront, and being reckoned with so visibly.
There's also a great tonal balance here. We can all be perpetrators in the oppression we face, but we are still victims at the end of the day, more than anything.
