Conclave 2024
Expected Succession, got Sherlock, but the film works thematically just about as well as the book (which is to say, quite well), and elevates the formulaic nature of the book without quite escaping from its poor pacing. The movie is smart enough to know that its intrigue hinges neither on plot nor writing so smartly anchors itself to the three great performances at the core of the story.
