Occasionally this movie has really poignant scenes (the last scene, the map and chalk sequence) which makes one sad the rest of the film isn't like that. Wish the movie had more sauce.
(Also Bella Kim of Winter in Sokcho fame sat a seat down from me which freaked out my inner fan person)

A film slower than I prefer, but very human and tender. Heartfelt, centers rebuking Western perceptions and narratives of Somalia. I hope to watch more Somali movies and work from the director. A bit long though.
