  Absolute brilliancy of Soviet cinema. One of a kind. The amount of philosophical dilemmas and concepts explored is crazy. And it’s done so subtly and unforced in comparison to modern and western cinema. The representation of ordinary living and mindset of that generation done with an astounding degree of care for depth and accuracy while simultaneously supporting the plot and world building. There is a lot more to be said about the film but I can’t be bothered:)
