What are we doing. A musical with horrendous songs that over-explained the plot, off-key whisper singing, abysmal Spanish from Selena Gomez for some reason. I could forgive these transgressions if the movie was actually INTERESTING, but alas… I found myself bored in the second half and waiting for respite from my misery. What was the point?

Cynthia Erivo gave me chills. Jonathan Bailey was hot as always. Ariana Grande was cute and hit those high notes. Spongebob was spongebobbing. Overall, an enjoyable experience. I recognize the flaws, but also left entertained, which is all a girl can ask for! And as for the over the top acting, it felt right at place in the musical format.
