A long time blind spot I am happy to have finally seen. Maybe a bit slow and uneventful by today's standards, but still rich in sci-fi atmosphere with some incredible visuals (Robbie the Robot and his car, the creature's footsteps appearing in the ground). Although I was familiar with the movie's broad moves, I never realized that it was very clearly the template for Star Trek.

Child's Play 2 1990
Never again in the series does Chucky approach the level of gleeful, no chill rage he has in this one. He is remorseless. Just an absolute menace.
I love the way this one looks. The saturated colors and copious wide angle lenses play up the kids game show atmosphere, making the violence all the more shocking, especially in the toy factory.
